The Proctor compactor is used to compact soil sample to make soil specimen by complies to the GB/T 50123-1999 and JTJ 051-93, it has light and heavy types, the light type is suitable for cohesive soil whose grain dia. ≤5mm , the heavy type is suitable for grain dia. ≤20mm. If use the 3-layers compacting method, the maximum grain dia. is ≤40mm. It's a kind of very common soil testing instrument.
